Science and Religion, The Myth of Conflict [Junior Fellow]

Event details

The disciplines of science and religion are often presented in discord with one another. Some would argue that modern science has relegated religion to irrelevance, especially as we continue to uncover the causes of the natural world and no longer need “antiquated” explanations. What reconciliation can be made, if any, for ancient faith and modern man?

Dr. Stephen M. Barr, author and professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy of the University of Delaware, will present his lecture entitled Science and Religion, The Myth of Conflict. Both a scientist and Catholic Christian, Dr. Barr will speak on the essential natures of science and religion to show that not only are they not in competition, but are each necessary for a complete worldview.
